Define Fitness: Well I Googled it and it came up with something about passing on Genes..etc etc..
Then I walked into the gym and I saw one of the peeps wearing a Shirt.."You aint fit unless you're CrossFit". Fitness Defined perfectly!
Fitness is more than just being good at an individual sport or practice its about embracing the 10 principles and mastering them:
1. Endurance
2. Stamina
3. Strength
4. Flexibility
5. Power
6. Coordination
7. Agility
8. Balance
9. Accuracy
10. Speed
These are up in the gym, in our faces everyday...use them as your motivation, use them as benchmarks for improvement.
My Goal for this challenge is to focus on the principles, I feel this is the way I will improve on my fitness all round.
I found a a short note from an article on CrossFit Journal...Applying this over the next 8 weeks will help put me on the right track.
World-Class Fitness in 100 Words:
* Eat meat and vegetables,
nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake level
that will support exercise but no body fat.
Practice and train
major lifts:
Deadlift
CleanDeadlift
Squat
Press
clean & Jerk
Snatch
*Master the Basics
Pull-ups
Dips
Rope Climb
Push-ups
sit-ups
Press to handstand
Skipping - DU's
Holds
Bike, run, swim row..."HARD AND FAST"
* Five or six days a week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the Enemy. Keep workouts short and intense.
* Regularly learn and play new sports.
That's my goals peeps...short, sweet and simple! The body fat % loss, body transformation...that will all come naturally if we work hard on the above.
